Woodland Strawberry

Fragaria vesca var.vesca

This striking perennial strawberry has white flowers and sets masses of small red strawberries on long arching stems. makes an excellent ground cover and grows well in cooler areas, where it produces sweet perfumed fruit year round. Fruit is great for drying and the leaves and flowers can be used for herbal tea. It gorws to about 20cm tall, self seeds readily, forms runners and prefers moist shady areas. Perfect container plant.
