Purple Sage
Salvia officinalis purpurea
A striking variety of sage, which can be used as a decorative landscape plant, or grown for its strongly flavoured leaves. Best grown in full sun, needs a well drained soil as all sages do. Tolerates low water conditions, poor soils and frost. Keep pruned to maintain a nice bushy growth habit. Try growing as part of a decorative perennial border, alternating with the Golden Sage ad Common Sage varieties - looks fantastic and entirely edible!
