Mountain Pepper Berry Tree

 

1 Male plant and 4 Female plants (separately labelled)

I male plant is all that is required to pollinate a large number of female plants in the general locality (ie, in the same garden).

Tasmannia lanceolata

Pepperberry Trees tolerate poor soils, as long as they are well drained, cool and moist. Grows naturally in the cool to moist elevated areas of Tasmania and SE Australia. In lower latitudes this elegant tree will grow to about 4 metres tall, grows well in large pots, as long as they receive afternoon shade. The stems are a striking red colour, and carry clusters of cream flowers. A male and female plant are required for pollinating and berry production. the leaves are strongly flavoured, though not as hot as the berries.

    I bought 24 plants two years ago.All have thrived and now are about 300mm high.I am very happy with the quality of the cuttings I received from you.They look like they will make a beautifull hedge with their red stems.They are a very attractive plant.
