Menthol Mint
Mentha arvensis var. piperascens
This mint has higher levels of menthol than most other mints. Mints are generally high in vitamin A, C and Riboflavin. Perfect treatment for a cold or flu - throw a few leaves in a bowl of boiling water, cover your head and bowl with a towel and inhale the menthol fumes to help clear your head, and unblock nose.
A tea made from a handful of leaves in hot water (infuse for about 10 minutes)is refreshing and can provide relief from nausea and indigestion.
Mints generally need constantly moist conditions, and prefer at least afternoon shade. Spreads to about 60 cm or more so best contained in a pot.
