Brassica oleracea botryis

Old, rustic Italian variety. Also known as 'Black Cabbage', 'Cavalero Nero' or 'Dinosour Kale'. Plant forms no central head bu t rather grows upward like a palm tree-pick leaves as required. Height to 1.5m. Leaves are narrow, crinkled, dark green and highly nutritious. Flavour improved by frost, continues to grow even when covered by snow.
