Sweet Fennel

Foeniculum officinale

Hardy perennial plant with feathery leaves, much like dill and fennel (florence). The seeds have a sweet aniseed flavour and are known to be a useful source of potassium and sodium salts, calcium, copper and iron. Said to reduce the appetite and assist in weight lose (one ingredient used in slimming tablets) so try chewing a few seeds before each meal. Suppresses grasses and some other plants, repels fleas and flies. Loves a warm sunny position.
