Dyers Chamomile
Anthemis tinctoria
This versitile plant has many uses; a yellow dye can be made from the long lasting bright yellow flowers; pick the flowers and combine with blue flowers for a beautiful and long lasting display; or use as a hardy spreading perennial ground cover. Continually cutting off old flowers encourages vigour in the plants. Chamomile plants generally prefer dry, sunny positions in well drained soil. Requires very little fertiliser. Grows to about 60 cm high (when in flower) and over a metre in width.
