Green Globe Artichoke is a herbaceous perennial which grows to about 1.5 metres.The edible flower buds are a delicacy & should be picked before they start to open.The grey-green foliage & spectacular flowers add beauty to the garden. It needs to be dug up & divided every 3 to 4 years. It likes a cool moist summer & mild winters but can struggle in high humidity.It loves compost & manure in a rich,well drained soil.
